GQ as frig. Here's some trash:
-
pyGrid.js: A grid "game engine" thing. Also: far more functional Python version
-
Telegraph demo: My attempt to implement a Cooke & Wheatstone style 5 needle telegraph, but digitally with regular ol' keys. Use 2-key combos of ZXCVB to select a character. Hold shift to use bottom characters. Also added spacebar, and backspace, so you might actually be able to type a whole ass sentence.
-
"Expert mode" 8 needle version: I don't think Cooke & Wheatstone ever went this far (conversely, the most successful incarnation of the C&W system was the one-needle telegraph, doing away with the low barrier to entry that I found so appealing about the original concept)
The idea here is all four fingers of each hand rest on the home row, and the entire alphabet can be accessed on the top half of the diamond, plus space, and backspace. Spacebar selects the bottom half. Ideally, each thumb would get a modifier of it's own, so you could use one to select the bottom charset, and the other for caps, but we're working with what we have here, so caps lock does what you think it does.
I haven't measured my WPM, but it definitely feels like single digits.
